Beijing, China has been placed on a soft lock down as officials confirmed a growing number of cases over 100 as of Tuesday, June 16th. There are over 83,000 cases confirmed in china alone. Making up roughly 2 percent of the growing cases worldwide which now sits at 7.9 million. China has been the source of much of the world's problem since last December 2019. When they withheld important information from the rest of the world resulting in the deaths of over 100,000 citizens globally.
Authorities have quickly barricaded and isolated neighborhoods known to harbor infected people, they also launched a massive campaign in testing and targeting all of the markets workers. Including all recent visitors and anyone they may have came into contact with-- as of June 16th there are up to 200,000 people surrounding the 90,000 who now lives in the infected neighborhood.
The resurgence is a worrying reminder of the unprecedented lock down of Wuhan as well as central China that happened in January. there were estimations of up to 35 million people impacted by the strictly enforced measures after the worlds first breakout started in a market at the heart of the Hubei province.
There were just as many people back on lock down across the city of Beijing on Tuesday. Authorities then placed massive housing areas under lock down.
